Margeret Mead's argument is that we Americans admire people with great talents, but we also don't appreciate on some talents. For example, a great murderer has such skills of killing people and we obviously see them as a threat. However, why can't we give him a chance? A chance to change against us to protect us with his great fighting skills. Obviously, there are no such thing as a second chance in reality most likely, so we hunt the murderer and execute him instead. So, I agree Mead's argument.
Sometimes in somewhere, they block our talents. Maybe our talent is great in this world, but talents is not the only thing to success in your life. It's the effort that prize success. A hard effort becomes a talent to amazing talent. We think successful people comes from their talent, but the fact is that it is mostly from effort.
